About the Department of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemis
The Department of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry is one of the departments of the Faculty of Pharmacy and is interested in studying the chemical reactions of aliphatic and aromatic organic compounds, functional groups and methods of preparation of these compounds, as well as the study of stereochemistry and spectroscopy of these compounds.
Department Vision:
The Department of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry aspires to prepare distinguished cadres at the local, regional and global levels and to be a house of expertise for international consultations in the academic and industrial field.
Department Mission:
The Department of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry teaches and continuously develops courses related to the construction of organic compounds and identify their composition and various properties and then understand their various uses in the field of pharmacy. The study of organic chemistry also provides an understanding of the mutual effect between pharmaceutical-important organic compounds and the surrounding environment outside and inside the body, which maximizes their usefulness and reduces their harm. The department teaches postgraduate studies modern methods of complete construction of pharmaceutical compounds or the introduction of certain modifications in natural compounds In order to improve their therapeutic properties and at the same time ensure their abundant production on economic bases and the department contributes with the rest of the departments of the faculty in granting a bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences as well as granting a master's degree and a doctorate of philosophy to serve and develop the Egyptian society.
Faculty staff members, their assistants and the administrative staff of the department
staff members: 4 professors - 2 Associate professors - 3 lecturers
staff assistants in the department: 2 assistant lecturers - 8 teaching assistants.
The administrative staff of the department: 2 employees – 3 workers.
