Under the patronage of Prof. Khaled El-Derndly, President of Zagazig University, and Prof. Helal Afifi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, the Faculty of Pharmacy celebrated on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, the graduation of the second cohort of students enrolled in the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) program. The ceremony was held in a celebratory atmosphere that reflected the university’s commitment to preparing qualified pharmacy professionals in accordance with the latest academic and professional standards.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Shaimaa El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Heba El-Sayed, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Maher El-Domiaty, member of the Supreme Committee for University Education Sectors, former Head of the Pharmaceutical Studies Sector Committee, former Governor of Beni Suef, former President of Zagazig University, and former Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Assistant Professor Yasmin Sharaf, Coordinator of the Clinical Pharmacy Program; Dr. Essam Abu El-Fotouh, Head of the Sharqia Pharmacists Syndicate; and Dr. Amira Kamal, representative of the University Hospitals. The ceremony was also attended by the heads of the scientific departments, faculty members and their supporting staff, administrative staff, and the families of the graduates.
Prof. Maher El-Domiaty extended his congratulations to the graduates and their families and highlighted the diverse career opportunities available to pharmacists today. He emphasized that the pharmacy profession is no longer limited to working in community pharmacies; rather, it has become one of the most diverse and expanding professions. Graduates can make a meaningful difference in hospitals, community pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, scientific research centers, regulatory laboratories, drug regulatory authorities, pharmaceutical marketing, pharmacovigilance, and clinical trials, in addition to emerging fields such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and their applications in healthcare.
For her part, Prof. Shaimaa El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, expressed her happiness at celebrating the graduation of the second cohort of the Pharm D Bachelor of Pharmacy Program. She emphasized that the program is one of the faculty’s academic programs that keeps pace with the latest global trends in pharmaceutical education, contributing to the preparation of pharmacists equipped with the skills and practical experience necessary to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care. She added that the faculty continues to develop its educational and research programs, further enhancing the standing of its graduates and their ability to compete in local, regional, and international labor markets.
The ceremony also featured the graduates’ administration of the Oath of the Pharmacy Profession, which was administered by Dr. Essam Abu El-Fotouh, Head of the Sharqia Pharmacists Syndicate. He emphasized the importance of adhering to professional ethics, upholding the humanitarian mission of the pharmacy profession, and striving to provide the highest standards of pharmaceutical care to patients.
The ceremony concluded with the honoring of the graduates and the taking of commemorative photographs in an atmosphere of pride and joy, celebrating the fruits of years of hard work and dedication and reaffirming Zagazig University’s mission of preparing scientifically and professionally qualified generations capable of supporting the healthcare system and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
